Project Overview

UPVC Windows & Doors, Cardiff

A client recently approached us as part of a full renovation of their detached 1950s home in the leafy suburb of Llandaff, Cardiff. The property had not been updated in over 30 years and required extensive modernisation, including energy efficiency upgrades, improved security, and enhanced kerb appeal. One of their top priorities was replacing all of the original single-glazed timber windows and dated front and back doors with high-performance uPVC windows and doors.

Requirements

The clients had a clear brief:

  • Replace all existing windows with energy-efficient double-glazed uPVC units
  • Install a new composite-look uPVC front door and a set of French doors at the rear
  • Ensure the design stayed in keeping with the character of the property
  • Provide a low-maintenance, secure, and weather-resistant solution
  • Minimise disruption during the renovation schedule

Solution

After an initial consultation and site survey, we recommended our premium A-rated white uPVC casement windows, known for their durability, thermal insulation, and sleek finish. For the front door, the clients selected a heritage-style uPVC door in anthracite grey with decorative glazing and chrome fittings. To maximise natural light at the rear, we installed white uPVC French doors opening onto the newly landscaped garden.

Each unit was fabricated to bespoke measurements to ensure a perfect fit and compliance with building regulations. The installation was carried out by our FENSA-registered team over a five-day period, with minimal impact on other trades working on the site.

Results

The finished installation transformed both the internal comfort and external appearance of the home. The new uPVC windows and doors provided:

  • Improved energy efficiency, with a noticeable reduction in draughts and heating bills
  • Enhanced security, thanks to multi-point locking systems
  • Modern aesthetics, complementing the updated exterior
  • Quieter interiors, thanks to the acoustic insulation of the double glazing
  • Ease of maintenance, with no more sanding or repainting required

Conclusion

This project is a perfect example of how uPVC windows and doors in Cardiff can elevate a renovation project. From thermal efficiency to style, our installation met all the client’s needs and delivered long-term value. Whether you’re updating a single room or renovating an entire property, our expert team is here to help.
